Privacy Policy

The Short Version

We collect only what we need to run AskThree. Your queries are processed through AI APIs to generate answers and are stored so you can revisit your research history. We do not sell your data. We do not use your data to train AI models.

What We Collect

• ✓Account info — email address and password (hashed) when you create an account.
• ✓Search queries — the questions you ask and the responses generated by Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini, stored as your search history.
• ✓Payment info — if you upgrade to Pro, Stripe handles all payment processing. We never see or store your full card number.
• ✓Usage data — basic analytics like page views and feature usage to improve the product.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

• Run your queries through Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini via their APIs
• Perform live web searches via Exa to ground answers in current sources
• Store your search history so you can access past research
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Send you account-related emails (password resets, billing)

We do not use your queries or data to train AI models. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers.

Third-Party Services

AskThree sends your queries to third-party AI providers to generate responses. Each provider has its own privacy policy:

• Anthropic(Claude) — processes queries via their API
• OpenAI(ChatGPT) — processes queries via their API
• Google(Gemini) — processes queries via their API
• Exa— performs web searches to provide current context
• Stripe— handles payment processing
• Supabase— hosts our database and authentication
• Vercel— hosts the application

All API providers receive only the data necessary to fulfill your request. We use API access (not consumer-grade accounts), which means these providers generally do not use your data for training under their API terms.

AI transparency notice: AskThree uses artificial intelligence systems (large language models) to generate research responses. Every answer you receive is AI-generated and synthesized from the three models listed above, supplemented by web search results.

Data Security

• Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
• User API keys (if applicable) are encrypted with AES-256-GCM at rest
• All traffic is served over HTTPS
• Authentication sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies

Cookies

We use cookies only for authentication session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

Your Rights

You can:

• Delete your search history at any time from your account
• Request a copy of your data by emailing us
• Delete your account entirely by emailing us
• Cancel your Pro subscription at any time with no penalty

Changes

If we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or by a notice on the site. Minor clarifications may be made without notification.
